2008 7's Season
A Note From Coach Mark Allen
This years sevens team was a much improved side from last years team. We finished up with only a 3 win and 4 loss record in two tournaments that we entered , but we were competitive in every one of our loses. The teams turnaround was due to two main factors, 1. the core group of players played again together this year. 2. the addition of our Tongan, Semisi. Semisi was injured in the second game of the grand rapids tournament and the overall moral of the team backed up a bit having already loss our captain Isaac from a broken nose the week before when we traveled down to Michiana for a practice/scrimmage. The team moral and overall play was much improved from last years squad and although we did not have an adventure in Doug's bus, I believe it was a good experience for all of the players involved. Semisi is anxious to energize the program next year and throughout the 15's schedule. It is difficult to compete against the division one and super league teams , but with victories against large market teams will only give us confidence for next year.
